Record funding available across Australia and New Zealand
Community organisations across Australia and New Zealand can apply for a record $750,000 through the Bupa Foundation’s 2026 Community Grants Program.
The funding will support projects in local health programs, community building and environmental conservation. Applications opened on 15 September 2026.
Since the program began in 2019, Bupa Foundation has committed more than $2.5 million to organisations in both countries.
Bupa Foundation says the grants back groups working to improve health outcomes and build communities that are more connected, resilient and sustainable.
Grants of up to $50,000 added
The 2026 round includes larger grants of up to $50,000. Bupa Foundation says the higher cap is meant to help organisations scale successful programs, expand their reach and create lasting impact.
Bronwyn Portes, Bupa APAC Director of Social Impact and Sustainability, said Bupa increased both the total pool and the value of individual grants in 2026.
“That’s why we’re proud to be increasing both the size of our grant pool and the value of individual grants this year,” Ms Portes said.
She also pointed to the types of work Bupa wants to support, including mental wellbeing, stronger social connections, better physical health, and projects that help people and nature thrive together.
According to Bupa, eligible organisations may come from metropolitan areas, remote regions, First Nations communities and veteran communities across Australia and New Zealand.
Ms Portes said community-led initiatives were making a difference every day across both countries, and Bupa encouraged eligible organisations to apply.
Past recipients span health and community groups
Previous recipients include the Legacy Club of Brisbane, Delta Therapy Dogs and Waipuna Hospice, along with dozens of other community groups.
Those examples show the program has supported organisations working with people as well as projects with an environmental focus.
Bupa did not disclose the closing date for applications in the material issued on 15 September 2026. It directed applicants to its eligibility and application information online.
