Affordable Degrees in Business Management
The Education Centre of Australia (ECA) has expanded its global campus network through a partnership with Birkbeck, University of London. They announced the establishment of a new campus in Bengaluru, India, on 16th April 2026.
In Whitefield’s Sattva Tech Park, the Bengaluru campus will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in business management and business analytics. Courses will be delivered under Birkbeck’s academic oversight, with tuition fees up to 60 per cent lower than in London.
At the launch event, key figures like Dr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, and Alison Barrett MBE, Country Director India at the British Council, attended. They emphasised the importance of this international educational collaboration.
Strategic Shift in Education
The initiative by ECA marks a strategic shift towards transnational education models. This allows students to access globally recognised qualifications at reduced costs within their home country. Rupesh Singh, CEO of ECA Group, called the partnership a defining moment as ECA enters its third decade in international education.
Singh stated, “By combining Birkbeck’s globally respected academic model with ECA’s proven track record in transnational education, we are creating a scalable blueprint for international campus partnerships.”
Strategically located in a major technology and business district, the Bengaluru campus offers students direct exposure to multinational business environments and career opportunities. This initiative is part of ECA’s broader strategy to scale international campus delivery and extend its global reach.
As demand for flexible education pathways grows, Birkbeck Bengaluru is set to offer a repeatable model combining academic quality and operational capability, enhancing access to international education.
Senior representatives from various sectors, including the British High Commission to India, attended the event. They underscored the collaboration’s potential to transform education delivery in India.
The campus aims to address key barriers such as cost and mobility, making quality education more accessible. By offering degrees at significantly reduced costs, the initiative targets students who seek international qualifications without the need to relocate.
Dr. K M Praphullachandra Sharma, Joint Secretary, International Cooperation Cell, Ministry of Education, highlighted the campus’s role in fostering international cooperation in higher education.
