Hydrogen Dialogue Summit: Innovations and Strategies
Ees Europe, the continent's largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems, is spotlighting green hydrogen at its 2026 event in Munich from 23rd to 25th June.
The event includes the Hydrogen Dialogue Forum & Expo in Hall B2, providing insights into hydrogen technology, innovation, and potential cost savings. The accompanying Hydrogen Dialogue Summit is scheduled at ICM – Internationales Congress Centre München on 24th and 25th June.
The Global Energy Report 2025 indicates that only 11 per cent of hydrogen projects announced since 2020 are operational or have secured investment. Despite producing 100 million metric tons of hydrogen in 2024, 99 per cent originated from fossil fuels.
Markus Elsässer, CEO of Solar Promotion GmbH, emphasised the need for a "future-proof energy system" that combines decentralised generation, battery storage, and hydrogen electrolysis.
Summit Focuses on Strategic Developments
The summit will focus on Germany's hydrogen strategies on 24th June and expand to European and global contexts on 25th June, featuring discussions with policymakers and industry leaders.
Jens Mohrmann, Managing Director of Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, stated that the Hydrogen Dialogue aims to "set a clear signal in favour of ramping up production."
The summit is supported by Bavarian Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, who will open the event.
In 2024, around 100 million metric tons of hydrogen were produced globally, with 99 per cent derived from fossil fuels, highlighting the urgent need for green alternatives.
Currently, the industry faces a shortage of electrolyzers essential for steel production, high-temperature processes, and synthetic fuel manufacturing for heavy transport, sea, and air travel.
The energy crisis has underscored the strategic value of renewables and green hydrogen, as noted by industry experts. These resources are crucial for achieving climate neutrality goals.
Ees Europe expects around 2,800 exhibitors and over 100,000 trade visitors. Participants can find more information on the official websites www.ees-europe.com and www.TheSmarterE.de.
