Monthly Event to Boost Local Economy

Epping’s Boronia Park is set to come alive with vibrant night markets on the last Friday of each month, starting on 24th April. This initiative is part of a one-year trial designed to enrich the local community experience and boost the economy.

Visitors will find over 30 diverse stalls offering a wide array of food, artisan goods, and live entertainment from 5 pm to 9 pm. These markets cater to Epping’s growing population, projected to reach 41,000 by 2050. The first event on 24th April promises to bring together food lovers and entertainment enthusiasts.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter expressed enthusiasm for the market, highlighting it as “a highlight on the local calendar.” Community support has been overwhelming, with 98 per cent of respondents endorsing the idea during the Council’s engagement process.

Supporting Community Growth

As Epping experiences substantial growth, the night markets aim to bolster the local economy and foster stronger community connections. These events provide a neighborhood setting where residents can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while supporting local businesses.

The initiative also targets Epping’s young population by offering a platform for local vendors to engage with residents. This interaction is expected to have a positive impact on the local economic landscape. According to Cr Zaiter, “Epping also has a young population, so it makes sense to launch these markets at Boronia Park in the heart of the suburb.”

Supported by the City of Parramatta and organized by AMA Event Management, the night markets will culminate with a special event at the year’s end. This final market will celebrate the trial run’s conclusion and potentially set the stage for future events. Great cities worldwide are famous for their night markets, and Epping aims to join their ranks.
