Robbie Campo Departs for HESTA Leadership

ESSSuper is initiating a search for a new CEO following the announcement that Robbie Campo will leave the organisation to become the CEO of HESTA Super Fund. The announcement was made on 15th April by ESSSuper Board President Pam Rebecca.

Robbie Campo has been with ESSSuper since 2022, leading the super fund through numerous challenges and achievements. Her tenure saw the reinforcement of strong relationships with the Victorian Government, employers, and unions. ESSSuper celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, marking a century of service as a unique fund with an open defined benefit scheme.

According to Pam Rebecca, "It is with a great deal of pride for Robbie that we make this announcement. Her appointment by HESTA is a recognition of her impeccable character, leadership skills and expertise."

During her time at ESSSuper, Campo focused on delivering strong member outcomes with a warm and collaborative leadership approach. She helped build a strong and capable team, priming the organisation for future strategic priorities. Robbie has been a tireless advocate for members, driven by the purpose of making a lifetime of positive difference to those who have served the Victorian community.

ESSSuper, a 100-year-old agency of the Victorian Government, is unique in having an open defined benefit fund. With over 121,000 members, it manages more than $39.5 billion in assets as of 30th June 2025. The fund plays a unique role as a Victorian public sector entity delivering to members who are working, or worked, to serve and protect all Victorians.

Campo expressed her pride in the progress made at ESSSuper, stating, "The chance to lead ESSSuper has been a career highlight and a privilege. I will depart with much pride in the important progress made in optimising member outcomes over the past four years."

The search for Campo’s successor will be thorough, ensuring a seamless handover with the support of a strong executive team. Although Robbie will be deeply missed by staff, stakeholders, and the Board, her new role as HESTA's CEO is a fitting recognition of her expertise and reputation within the sector.
