Partnership Aims for Sustainable Urban Solutions
In Singapore, FPT Corporation and Sembcorp Development recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities in AI, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This agreement was formalised during a ceremony attended by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and State President H.E. To Lam.
By leveraging FPT’s expertise in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, the collaboration aims to enhance Sembcorp’s experience in energy and sustainable urban development. Initial projects will focus on developing AI-enabled applications for energy, utilities, and urban infrastructure.
David Nguyen, FPT Software Senior Vice President and FPT Asia Pacific CEO, stated, “Building a sustainable future requires a strong technological foundation, with AI acting as a powerful catalyst.”
Focus on Energy and Urban Sustainability
Exploration of energy-efficient data centres and cloud ecosystem enablement will be a key focus for FPT and Sembcorp. The collaboration will extend to urban sustainability, aiming to utilise technology for smart city planning and energy transition initiatives.
Both companies will evaluate the potential implementation of facility management solutions to improve energy optimization and sustainability performance. This includes projects in carbon management and other ESG-related initiatives.

To support their objectives, the companies plan to hold joint workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities, fostering cross-functional collaboration among their teams. These initiatives aim to promote innovation and practical solutions for sustainable development.
Since its establishment in Singapore in 2007, FPT has expanded within the APAC region, becoming a trusted digital transformation partner to over 500 enterprises in various sectors. The partnership with Sembcorp is the latest step in its mission to drive innovation using AI technology.
