InterSystems cites 29 countries and 600 hospitals

InterSystems has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Electronic Health Records.

Gartner published the report on 6 July 2026. Veronica Walk and Jonathan Rivera wrote the research.

A Gartner Magic Quadrant compares vendors in a specific market. It uses a graphic format and common criteria to assess execution and market position.

InterSystems powers more than one billion health records globally. Its EHR products are deployed in 29 countries outside the United States.

InterSystems TrakCare is used by more than 600 hospitals worldwide. The platform supports care across hospitals, community settings and national health systems through a unified patient record.

InterSystems also highlighted its work on interoperability in regional and national health information exchanges. Its EHR recently gained European Union Class IIa Medical Device Regulation certification.

“Healthcare organisations are under pressure to modernise while continuing to deliver safe, reliable care every day,” Don Woodlock, President of InterSystems, said.

Woodlock described the company’s approach as a mix of global scale, deep interoperability and enterprise-ready AI capabilities. He argued that those tools let clinicians and health systems modernise at their own pace while maintaining patient care.

The company is investing in EHR development with on-premises, hybrid, vendor-managed and public cloud deployment options. It also releases updates on a bimonthly cycle.

InterSystems sells its software through subscription and SaaS pricing models. Those packages include advanced AI capabilities.

InterSystems IntelliCare is a next-generation EHR designed with AI at its core. The platform is built to improve productivity, streamline clinical workflows and reduce administrative burden through automation.

Meanwhile, TrakCare remains the company’s established healthcare information system. InterSystems uses it across provider organisations and national programmes in multiple markets.

According to InterSystems, TrakCare supports integrated care delivery across hospitals, community settings and national health systems. The system provides an interoperable platform for coordinated care.
