Fundraising for Dementia Support

The 2026 Perth Memory Walk & Jog is set to take place this Sunday, 21st June at Burswood Park, starting at 7:30am. This eagerly awaited event invites everyone in the Perth community to walk, jog, or run to promote better brain health and raise essential funds for dementia care.

Participants will have the chance to join MC Mark Gibson for what promises to be a fun and family-friendly day out. With over 900 individuals already registered, the organisers are encouraging more people to sign up. Online registrations remain open, and participants can also register on the day of the event.

Dementia Australia, the organisation supported by the event, is a key provider of trusted information, education, and services for more than 446,500 Australians living with dementia and over 1.7 million people involved in their care. The organisation advocates for positive change and supports vital research.

How to Get Involved

For those who cannot attend the main event, the MyWay initiative offers an alternative. Individuals or groups can organise their own walks or jogs, choosing their preferred date and location. To participate, they can register on the Memory Walk website.

Dementia Australia encourages community involvement to support their mission. The organisation aims to enable those impacted by dementia to live as well as possible. For support, the National Dementia Helpline is available at 1800 100 500, offering assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition to the helpline, Dementia Australia provides an interpreter service, ensuring support for diverse communities. More information can be accessed at dementia.org.au. Those interested in participating in the Perth Memory Walk & Jog can sign up at memorywalk.com.au/event/perth.

If you are unable to participate but still want to help, consider organising a MyWay event. This allows you to contribute to the cause at a time and place that suits you. More details are available at memorywalk.com.au/get-involved/mw.
