Expanding Global Renewable Natural Gas Operations
Mobius Renewables has completed the acquisition of Air Liquide's biogas production activities in the United States, France, Norway, and Sweden, as announced on 4th May 2026. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for the company, enhancing its renewable natural gas (RNG) portfolio globally.
The acquisition includes six landfill gas-to-RNG sites in the U.S. and five farm waste sites in France. Mobius Renewables has acquired a 51% stake in Redo Biosolutions, which has production and distribution assets located across Norway and Sweden.
Established in December 2025 by funds managed by IFM Investors, Mobius Renewables was designed to accelerate the development, production, distribution, and commercialization of RNG on a large scale across North America and Europe. With the successful acquisition, the company aims to further its mission.
Cynthia Walker, President and CEO of Mobius Renewables, expressed her excitement about the acquisition, stating, "With this transaction, our teams can now focus on improving operations and investing in new projects as we set the foundation for future global growth."
Strategic Integration and Growth
Mobius Renewables plans to integrate GreenGasUSA and the acquired operations under one cohesive brand. However, the Redo Biosolutions strategy and brand will be maintained separately, reflecting its unique market position.
Through this strategic acquisition, Mobius Renewables is set to generate and distribute over 5.5 million MMBtu of RNG annually. This positions the company as a leading producer of renewable natural gas on a global scale.
IFM Investors, which manages the funds for Mobius, reaffirms its commitment to the low-carbon fuels sector. The acquisition emphasises Mobius's focus on operational excellence and strategic growth, aiming for both organic development and targeted acquisitions.
By converting methane emissions from waste streams into low-carbon energy, Mobius Renewables supports its customers in meeting their sustainability and net-zero commitments. This acquisition further strengthens the company's capability to provide sustainable energy solutions.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, with additional offices in the United States, France, Norway, and Sweden, Mobius Renewables is well-positioned to capitalise on the growing demand for renewable energy solutions worldwide.
