Strategic Acquisitions and Expansion Drive Production Growth

Orezone Gold Corporation revealed its operating results for the first quarter of 2026, showcasing a substantial increase in gold production. The company produced 38,789 ounces of gold, a significant rise from the 28,688 ounces produced during the same period in 2025. This increase highlights Orezone’s enhanced production capabilities.

Acquiring Hecla Quebec, which includes the Casa Berardi gold mine, contributed to this production boost. Finalized in late March, the acquisition marks Orezone’s transition into a multi-asset producer with a diversified growth profile. Casa Berardi added 1,226 ounces to the production figures after being acquired.

President and CEO Patrick Downey described the first quarter as pivotal, citing milestones such as the acquisition and successful ramp-up at Bomboré. He stated, "The first quarter of 2026 included several important milestones for the Company."

Gold Production and Sales Data Detailed

On January 16th, the Bomboré Gold Mine achieved commercial production of its 2.5Mtpa stage 1 hard rock expansion. Although emulsion delivery issues affected mine sequencing, Bomboré performed well, contributing 37,563 ounces to the quarterly output. Orezone has since secured a second emulsion supplier, which is expected to enhance delivery consistency.

Significant increases in the average realized gold price per ounce sold, from $2,851 in 2025 to $4,887 in 2026, underline a strong market position. Gold sales reached 37,962 ounces, up from the prior year’s 28,943 ounces, reflecting effective operational strategies.

Orezone plans to issue further guidance for Casa Berardi in Q2 2026. Despite its brief post-acquisition production period, the mine shows potential for increased output and profitability.

Expectations are high for Bomboré’s production, projected to be weighted towards the second half of 2026. As emulsion deliveries improve and the stage 2A hard rock expansion advances, production should increase. Key components for the expansion, including a rock breaker, thickener, and oxygen plant, are already procured, with completion anticipated by late Q3.
