Pepsi Pitch launches floating football field on the Yarra at The Wharf

Pepsi is bringing American football to the Yarra River with the installation of the Pepsi Pitch at The Wharf. The activation places a 200 square metre floating football field directly on the water for a weekend-long sports event.

The Pepsi Pitch arrives at The Wharf on Saturday, 7th February and operates across the weekend. Throughout this period, the floating structure functions as a dedicated viewing and entertainment site focused on American football programming.blank

The pontoon adopts a tailgate-style layout that combines live sport content with scheduled music and hospitality. Meanwhile, DJ sets run from 4pm to 8pm during weekend sessions, supporting the broader event atmosphere.

At the centre of the floating pitch sits a 3.5 metre by 2 metre mega screen. The screen displays American football highlights, including notable halftime performances. Later, the screen transitions to live coverage on game day.

On Monday, 9th February, the Pepsi Pitch switches to live game coverage from 10am. As a result, the floating venue becomes a live broadcast site positioned directly on the Yarra River.

Guests attending the Monday session receive a four-hour beverage package starting at 10am. The package includes beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks. Additionally, guests receive a snack box featuring a hot dog, chicken wings and chips.

A fully serviced bar operates on the pontoon throughout the activation. In addition, American-style cornhole games run across the deck. Cheerleaders and face painters also appear during the game-day session.

Seating and access details

The floating pitch includes deck chairs and day beds arranged across the pontoon. These seating options accommodate individuals and small groups while controlling overall capacity.

Deck chair access for the Monday session is priced at $120 per person. Day beds are priced at $150 per booking and accommodate two to three people. Each package includes seating, food and beverages for the four-hour session.
