AHEIA Congratulates Former President Evans

Professor Carolyn Evans has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne, effective from 28th April 2026. This prestigious role marks a significant milestone in her distinguished career in education leadership. She succeeds Professor Duncan Maskell, who has served in the role since 2018.

Professor Evans previously served as the President of the Australian Higher Education Industrial Association (AHEIA) from 2021 to 2025. Under her leadership, the association experienced a period of substantial growth, which enhanced its influence within the sector. Membership increased by 30% during her presidency.

Craig Laughton, Executive Director of AHEIA, warmly congratulated Professor Evans on her new role.
