18-month intake starts in February 2027

Rabobank has opened applications for its 2027 graduate programme, offering university graduates around Australia a pathway into agriculture and agribusiness banking.

The intake begins in February 2027 and runs for 18 months. Graduates join teams across the bank in their chosen function and complete rotations to build practical experience.

Rabobank is a specialist food and agribusiness bank. In Australia, it ranks among the country’s largest agricultural lenders and also provides business and corporate banking services to the food and agribusiness sector.

Rabobank Australia chief executive Caroline Oosterbaan said the programme gives graduates a chance to start meaningful careers with a major global food and agribusiness bank.

Rabobank launched its formal graduate programme in 2023. Since then, it has recruited university graduates from across Australia who have an interest in agriculture.

The programme recently ranked sixth in the Australian Association of Graduate Employers Top 75 Graduate Employers list in the Small programme category. That ranking is based on graduates’ views of their experience.

Rabobank also made the Top 10 Most Popular Banking, Finance and Insurance Employer list. It ranked 52 in the Top 100 Most Popular Graduate Employers list published by the Australian Financial Review and SEEK Grad.

Those awards are published each year. SEEK Grad measures actual student applications to set the employer rankings.

Townsville, Kadina and Wagga Wagga

Every graduate spends time at a rural or regional branch in Australia. Rabobank listed Townsville, Kadina, Geraldton, Wagga Wagga and Port Lincoln as examples of branch locations.

Oosterbaan said that customer-facing branch experience helps graduates understand Rabobank’s approach to supporting clients in agricultural communities.

Each graduate is also matched with a senior leader from the bank as a mentor throughout the 18-month programme. Rabobank uses that mentoring to help accelerate career development.

One mentor is Sally Bull, Rabobank’s state manager for Victoria and Tasmania. She supports graduates as they move through rotations and build experience across the bank.

Applications are now open for graduates interested in agriculture, food and agribusiness. Successful applicants will start the programme in February 2027.
