Weekly auctions begin in July 2026 amid overseas sales

RR Auctions switched from monthly sales to weekly auctions in July 2026, giving buyers fresh listings to view, track and bid on every week.

From July 2026, the Australian online platform for collector, classic and enthusiast vehicles started running weekly sales as demand increased.

In the past two auctions, RR Auctions sold vehicles into North America, including a 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 22B and a 1978 Pontiac Firebird from The Rockford Files.

Joshua Wygoda, RR Auctions’ Head of Sales, said: “We’re seeing more quality vehicles coming to market and more buyers actively looking and checking in every week.”

According to RR Auctions, sellers want faster access to market, while buyers want new opportunities each week.

North American collector sales

The 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 22B was one of only 424 examples produced worldwide.

RR Auctions said the Subaru achieved the strongest result for a 22B sold in Australia since 2022 before a North American collector secured it.

Following that sale, the 1978 Pontiac Firebird driven by James Garner in The Rockford Files also sold to a North American buyer after a record result through RR Auctions.

Those two sales point to rising overseas demand for Australian-listed collector vehicles in 2026.

Upcoming weekly auctions include a 2025 Lotus Emira First Edition, a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo, a 2015 Audi R8 V10 and a 1973 Ford Escort Mk1.

RR Auctions is also listing various heritage number plates in its weekly catalogue from July 2026.

Despite the higher auction frequency, RR Auctions will keep professional presentation, government-authorised identity verification, secure trust account fund management and its zero % seller commission.

Wygoda said: “Weekly auctions allow us to respond to that demand. Sellers can get their vehicles to market faster, while buyers have fresh opportunities each week to access the new, curated listings that are hitting the platform continuously.”
