Leadership Changes and Strategic Growth
On May 1, Sensiba, a leading accounting, tax, and consulting firm, announced the appointment of Monic Ramirez as Managing Partner. This change coincides with the start of the firm's fiscal year. Ramirez takes over from John Sensiba, who led the firm for 18 years and will remain with Sensiba to mentor new partners.
The appointment of Ramirez is part of a strategic shift at Sensiba, which includes the acquisition of AssuranceLab. This Australia-based compliance automation firm specialises in SOC 2 and ISO 27001. The acquisition broadens Sensiba's influence across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Ramirez began her career at Sensiba as a staff associate. She progressed to Senior Manager, Partner, and then Tax Partner-in-Charge. Her reputation for technical excellence and client advocacy has been instrumental in her rise within the firm.
Diverse Leadership and Global Expansion
Sensiba has made significant strides in enhancing its leadership diversity. Currently, 13 out of 30 equity partners, or 43%, identify as female, and 6 out of 30, or 20%, identify as individuals of color.
Following the AssuranceLab acquisition, Sensiba appointed Nick Lew Ton as Chief Growth Officer, James Andrew Smith as Chief Product Officer, and Patrick Hegarty as Sr. Director of International Services and Growth. These roles are vital for driving market expansion and developing AI-powered products to increase client efficiency.
John Sensiba commented, "Monic's ascent from college graduate to Managing Partner exemplifies what Sensiba stands for – talent, tenacity, and a genuine commitment to our clients and our people."
Ramirez shared her vision, stating, "I am honored to be stepping into the role of Managing Partner at Sensiba. We have always been grounded in relationships – how we show up for our clients, our people, and our communities."
Sensiba also announced the addition of four new partners: Anna Baker, Carson Chen, William Confer, and Chris Roe. Evan Stephens has been promoted to Tax Partner-in-Charge, succeeding Ramirez, which ensures leadership continuity across the firm's tax practice.
In line with its growth strategy, Sensiba has relocated its headquarters from San Ramon to San Jose to strengthen its presence in Silicon Valley. This move reflects the firm's commitment to embracing digital transformation and innovation.
