Queensland Country Bank invites 2027 applications

Applications are now open for the 2027 Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grants, with Townsville groups encouraged to apply.

Charities, sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations can apply for projects in Townsville and North Queensland at queenslandcountry.bank/goodforgood.

Queensland Country Bank is seeking projects that make communities stronger, healthier and more connected across Queensland.

In Townsville, the programme already has recent local examples from the 2025 funding round.

During that 2025 round, DV Safe Phone and the Magnetic Island RSL Sub Branch both received Good for Good Community Grants.

DV Safe Phone received funding to deliver DV Safe Phone Kits through a collaboration with Queensland Country Bank Stadium and DVConnect.

That project supports people affected by domestic and family violence with vital connection and support.

On Magnetic Island, the RSL Sub Branch received funding for robust marquees for RSL activities and community events.

Queensland Country Bank CEO Aaron Newman said Townsville had always been central to the organisation’s story.

“Queensland Country Bank was born in regional Queensland, our headquarters are here in Townsville, and supporting the communities where our members live and work is part of who we are,” Mr Newman said.

He also urged clubs, charities and community groups with practical projects to apply for the 2027 round.

Since launching in 2007, the Good for Good Community Grants programme has invested more than $3 million in 682 projects across Queensland.

Those 682 projects span health, education, sport, culture, accessibility, environment and community wellbeing.

According to Queensland Country Bank, the grants can help a sporting club buy equipment, a charity expand services, or a community group improve facilities.

The bank’s headquarters are in Townsville, which it described as its hometown in the 2027 grants announcement.

Following the opening of applications, community organisations across Townsville and North Queensland can submit proposals through the bank’s website.

Queensland Country Bank opened the 2027 Good for Good Community Grants after more than 18 years of funding community projects since 2007.
