Grants Target Indigenous Initiatives in Tasmania and
Queensland
Zinfra has launched its First Nations Community Grants, inviting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organisations in Tasmania and Queensland to apply for funding. The First Nations Community Grants programme offers grants of up to $10,000 and focuses on strengthening community wellbeing and cultural connections. Applications opened on 27th May.
The grants aim to support initiatives that provide crisis services, enhance community wellbeing, and create employment pathways. Eligible regions include Townsville, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and all areas of Tasmania. Organisations in Victoria are also invited to apply.
Peter Iancov, Managing Director of Zinfra, stated, “We’re proud to be introducing our First Nations Community Grants in Queensland and Tasmania for the first time.” He emphasised the focus on programmes that offer basic needs such as food and accommodation, as well as educational and training support.
Application Details and Objectives
Eligible organisations must be based in regions where Zinfra operates, including Victoria, Queensland, and Tasmania. The grants aim to strengthen cultural connections and support training opportunities for Indigenous communities, which aligns with Zinfra’s commitment to deepening relationships with First Nations communities.
The initiative underlines Zinfra’s dedication to building stronger relationships with First Nations communities. The programme encourages applications from groups delivering meaningful outcomes, including crisis support, community wellbeing projects, and employment pathways.
Zinfra is calling for applications from organisations that operate in Townsville, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and across Tasmania. According to Zinfra, eligible organisations can provide hands-on crisis support, such as accommodation and food pantries, which further strengthens community wellbeing and cultural connection.
Applications are now open, with further details available at Zinfra’s community page. Interested organisations can apply online to help foster community development and support services.
