Empowering Communities and Sustainability

Ant International’s Alipay+ has launched its support for the New York Liberty‘s 2026 season and sustainability initiatives, marking a new phase in the partnership that began in 2025. This collaboration centers on community empowerment, environmental sustainability, and youth development.

Leiming Chen, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Ant International, outlined the vision of using sports to directly engage the public in impactful social programs. “This partnership enables us to leverage sports as a universal language that transcends culture, religion, and geography,” he remarked.

In 2025, Alipay+ became the official sponsor and innovation partner for sustainability with the New York Liberty. This strategic alliance focuses on boosting local economies through connectivity and inclusivity. As a unified wallets gateway, Alipay+ has partnered with over 40 mobile payment and banking partners globally. This collective effort has enabled more inclusive and affordable digital payment methods for over 150 million merchants worldwide, reaching 1.8 billion user accounts in over 70 destination markets.

In December 2025, Alipay+ joined the Liberty for their Shoe Sorting Day. Volunteers from both organisations donated sneakers with handwritten notes for students across New York City as part of the team’s Season of Giving.

Melbourne’s biggest moments, straight to you.
