NDIS and Defence Examination Details
On Thursday, 23 April 2026, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit (JCPAA) will hold hearings at Parliament House. These hearings will focus on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the Defence Major Projects Reports.
Chaired by Josh Burns MP, the committee aims to scrutinise key areas of government spending. According to recent findings by the Australian National Audit Office, both the NDIS and Defence procurement require improvements in their administration.
Josh Burns MP emphasised the committee's role, stating, "The JCPAA has an important function to scrutinise the administration of major areas of government expenditure. Recent reports from the Australian National Audit Office suggest there are many areas for improvement in the administration of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and in Defence procurement, and the Committee will examine some of these areas this week."
