Barilla's Continuous Growth in Global Rankings
For the third year in a row, Barilla is confirmed as the world’s leading company in the food sector for reputation according to the Global RepTrak® 100 ranking. Conducted by RepTrak since 1999, this ranking annually analyses companies with the strongest reputations worldwide. In 2026, Barilla ranks 9th overall, moving up 16 positions compared to 2025 when it was ranked 25th.
Barilla’s improvement reflects its consistent reputation-building efforts over the years. The company combines product quality, industrial vision, and social responsibility. Present in over 100 countries, Barilla operates 30 production sites and produces over 2 million tons of pasta, ready-made sauces, and bakery products annually.
Sara Fargion, Vice President RepTrak, EMEA, stated, “In today’s turbulent macroeconomic environment, maintaining stable performance is already a positive signal. However, the ability to grow in this context becomes a true differentiator.”
The food industry faces significant pressure due to ongoing inflation and intense media scrutiny, affecting public perception across all 14 countries where RepTrak measures reputation. Despite these challenges, Barilla continues to invest in innovation and improve its product offerings.
Innovation and Sustainability Efforts
In November, Barilla inaugurated the Barilla Innovation & Technology Experience (BITE) in Parma. This new research and development centre employs 200 professionals, including food technologists, researchers, engineers, and food designers. They focus on developing new products, improving recipes, and enhancing sustainability.
BITE integrates scientific expertise, food culture, and technology to design the future of food. It supports an open-innovation ecosystem involving global universities and research centers, accelerating the development of sustainable and safe solutions aligned with consumer needs.
Barilla’s commitment to social initiatives includes partnerships with organisations like The Food Bank and Doctors Without Borders. This dedication to social responsibility has been recognised with awards from the Product of the Year programme in Italy. In 2025, Barilla Al Bronzo was awarded in the Pasta category, and in 2026, Barilla Protein+ received recognition.
Further demonstrating its commitment to innovation, Barilla has focused on sustainability through its BITE center. The company aims to design the future of food by collaborating with international research centers, enhancing its ability to meet consumer expectations.
The company remains focused on enhancing its reputation and social responsibility initiatives. Barilla continues to prioritise product quality and sustainability, ensuring long-term trust and success in the global market.
