Renewable Energy and Regenerative Agriculture Initiatives
On World Environment Day, Barilla Group released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting major renewable electricity and regenerative agriculture initiatives set for 5th June.n
An investment of €30 million in 2025 aims to boost Barilla’s photovoltaic capacity at pasta and bakery plants, contributing to a €168 million five-year plan. Capacity has increased to over 8 MW with the activation of five new plants in Italy and Greece.n
Scaling regenerative agriculture practices, Barilla plans to source 250,000 tonnes of soft wheat by 2030. Since 2010, over 816,000 tonnes of raw materials have been sourced through the Barilla Sustainable Farming programme.n
Advancing its commitment to healthier products, Barilla has improved the nutritional profile of its offerings. Currently, 89% of products contain no more than 5 grams of sugar per serving and 90% have no more than 0.5 grams of salt.n
Community Support and Product Innovationn
In 2025, Barilla provided 4,000 tonnes of food products to non-profits and allocated €2 million to social causes, prioritising inclusion and education. Investments in research and development exceeded €47 million to further enhance nutritional profiles.n

Reflecting its sustainability efforts, Barilla reported €4.837 billion in revenues for 2025. Guided by the Barilla 2030 Sustainability Compass, the company plans to continue these initiatives.n
Ranked as the world’s most reputable company in the food sector for the third consecutive year, Barilla also features among the global top 10 in the Global RepTrak 100 for 2026.n
Innovation in packaging is also a focus for Barilla to minimise environmental impact. A new Tagliatelle pack saves 150 tons of cardboard and reduces CO₂ emissions by 20%, while sauce jars are made with approximately 65% recycled glass.
