Crane Bar sets the stage for Melbourne’s summer
Crane Bar at 1 Hotel Melbourne has unveiled its summer music programme, and it makes a significant impact. The new riverside terrace setting, combined with a curated blend of international and local talent, positions the venue as one of the city’s hottest day-to-night destinations. The season offers an upbeat mix of established artists and emerging names, which gives it real energy from the start. In addition, the programming feels sharp, contemporary and ambitious, which suits the location perfectly.
DJ Minx curates the full lineup. She arrives fresh from recent sets at Ministry of Sound and Hypersonic, so the timing plays in the venue’s favour. Her approach brings a diverse blend of talent to Melbourne, and she anchors the season with her own performances too.

Headline artists bring serious weight
Local favourites lead the charge. Edd Fisher, one half of Wax’o Paradiso, sets the tone with his warm, vinyl-driven sound. Meanwhile, PBS mainstay Mz Rizk brings her festival-level presence to the riverside. Rising producer No Era joins them, which adds a fresh burst of energy. Tom Evans, Camov, Frisco, Cesure and Billy-Jean Danimoto round out the local roster, while Minx takes multiple headline slots.
Internationally, the season lands two major names. Paris-based nu-disco artist Fleur de Mer returns home for a shimmering set that blends DJ stylings with live vocals. Her sound works beautifully in an outdoor summer space. Then on 10th January, Boiler Room alum MLCH arrives from France to start his Australian tour. His mix of Chicago house, atmospheric tracks, funk and disco offers a standout moment in the season.

Crane Terrace elevates the summer experience
Crane Bar’s new outdoor Crane Terrace expands the venue significantly. The indoor soundtrack now spills outdoors, which creates a connected atmosphere throughout the space. The setting suits long afternoons that transition into lively night sessions, and it gives guests a real sense of arrival.
The summer menu also receives attention. It features artisanal snacks and wood-fired pizzas, which keep the crowd fuelled through sunset. The hero dish, a handcrafted savoury gelato topped with caviar, brings a luxury touch that guests will remember. The style strikes a balance between refined and approachable, which works well for a summer crowd.

NYE delivers a high-energy finale
Crane Bar closes the year with a New Year’s Eve event that leans into live music and atmosphere. Jay Ramon and Laurent take the decks, while Fade to Black performs as a five-piece band with two lead vocalists. Guests can expect strong energy throughout the night and clear views of Melbourne’s fireworks from the terrace.
Weekly sessions keep the momentum strong
Crane Sunset Sessions run every Friday and Saturday. Sunday Sessions begin at 1pm and provide a relaxed entry into the end of the weekend. These weekly events help build consistency throughout the season, making the venue a reliable choice for summer catch-ups.
