Seven online sales will offer Lyons' cars, watches, fashion and memorabilia

A Darryn Lyons auction will sell the businessman and media personality’s private collection in seven online sales through Lloyds Auctions, with every lot starting from $1.

Headline lots include Lyons’ Lamborghini Diablo and a champagne-gold Ferrari Spider. The sales also list watches from Rolex, Franck Muller and Jacob & Co, plus designer pieces from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier and Balenciaga.

Lloyds Auctions says Lyons built the collection over decades of buying in London, Paris, Saint-Tropez, New York, Dubai, Africa and Australia. The company links the collection to Lyons’ ties to celebrity culture, luxury assets, elite sport, international travel and high-profile social circles.

Seven themed sales span cars to memorabilia

The auction series is divided into seven themed sales. They cover furniture, antiques, books and ornaments; watches and jewellery; designer fashion and accessories; collectable cars; wine and alcohol; and fine art, photography and memorabilia.

Lloyds Auctions also says the offering mixes personal collectables, estate pieces and luxury items in a single-owner sale. Bidding and registrations are open at lloydsauctions.com.au/mrpaparazzi.

Some items are linked to Bernie Ecclestone, Simon Cowell, Shane Warne and David Beckham. Lyons is also a former Geelong mayor and is known publicly as Mr. Paparazzi.

Lee Hames, chief operations officer at Lloyds Auctions, said the collection stood out because it crossed “cars, celebrity culture, fashion, sport, antiques and personal history”.

Hames said the items also give more context about the people, places and experiences behind Lyons’ public life. He said the interest lay not only in the brands and asset types, but also in the stories of how Lyons acquired the pieces.

Lloyds Auctions did not give dates for each of the seven sales in the material it provided. The company describes the collection as one of the more diverse private collections to come to market through its platform.
