ETF Focuses on Memory Semiconductors and Storage
Defiance ETFs has introduced the Defiance Memory UCITS ETF (ticker: DRAM), marking Europe's first memory-focused exchange-traded fund. Currently trading on Xetra and Borsa Italiana, the ETF aims to give investors exposure to companies involved in memory semiconductors and data storage systems.
Capitalizing on rising demand for memory technologies, the fund targets areas driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data centres. Memory prices are increasing, and the ETF offers a timely opportunity as manufacturers focus on high-margin sectors like high-bandwidth memory and server-grade DRAM.
Sylvia Jablonski, CIO of Defiance ETFs, stated, "Memory is the foundational layer of the AI economy. DRAM gives European investors a direct, rules-based way to access this segment of the AI value chain."
European Market Expansion
Memory-focused ETFs in the U.S. have accumulated around $20 billion in assets under management. With the launch of DRAM, European investors can now tap into this growing market segment. Soon, the ETF will also be available on the London Stock Exchange, broadening its accessibility.
Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, commented, "We are delighted to be partnering with Defiance to launch the Defiance Memory UCITS ETF. The ETF captures a sector that has seen significant growth recently, driven predominantly by the rise of AI and its infrastructure."
Defiance's European UCITS lineup now includes the Memory UCITS ETF, AI & Power Infrastructure UCITS ETF, Drone UCITS ETF, and Ukraine Reconstruction UCITS ETF. This marks Defiance's fourth launch since entering the European market earlier this year.
By 2026, DRAM and solid-state drive (SSD) prices could rise as much as 130%, according to Gartner. This highlights the strategic importance of memory solutions in technology development.
As demand for advanced memory solutions continues to grow, investors will be closely watching how the Defiance Memory UCITS ETF performs in the evolving technology landscape.
