AI Mapping Assists Chinese Automakers Globally

HERE Technologies is showcasing its cutting-edge AI-powered mapping technology at Auto China 2026, which highlights its pivotal role in supporting the international growth of Chinese automakers. The event is being hosted in Beijing, where HERE is presenting its advanced mapping solutions that aid in global expansion.

In 2025, HERE achieved a significant milestone with all of the top ten Chinese automakers by export volume becoming its customers. This widespread adoption underscores HERE's long-standing partnerships and the growing demand for its services as these brands extend their reach internationally.

According to Omdia's 2025 Location Platform Index, HERE was recognised as the leading location platform globally. At Auto China 2026, HERE is showcasing applications of its automotive-grade map data and AI-powered location intelligence, including digital cockpit innovations and automated driving solutions.

Advanced Mapping and Navigation

HERE's technology powers 238 million vehicles worldwide, with over 63 million using its data for driver assistance and automated driving functions. The HERE Navigation software is expected to be integrated into more than two million vehicles across 30 countries over the next few years.

Deon Newman, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific at HERE, stated, "Chinese automakers are among the most innovative and dynamic companies in the global automotive industry." He emphasised HERE's 'in China, for global' strategy, highlighting their commitment to supporting these automakers' worldwide expansion.

At Auto China 2026, attendees can explore HERE's technologies and demonstrations at Hall A4, booth #A414. The event underscores HERE's ongoing investment in AI-driven mapping capabilities that facilitate the development of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).

HERE Technologies also announced that its mapping platform supports more than 238 million vehicles globally. This includes a substantial number of vehicles equipped with driver assistance and automated driving functions. The company’s commitment to innovation is further demonstrated by HERE Navigation, a full-stack navigation software projected to be implemented in over two million vehicles in 30 countries in the coming years.

As navigation systems converge with driver assistance and automated driving technologies, HERE is at the forefront with its unified, AI-powered live map. This critical layer delivers a seamless driving experience by offering precise lane-level guidance and intelligent driving map layers, which HERE is showcasing at Auto China.
