Community Encouraged to Participate in Fundraising

Residents of Hervey Bay are being urged to join the Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal. This year, the appeal aims to raise $41 million nationally to support crucial community programmes across Australia.
Celebrating 62 years, this appeal is renowned as Australia’s largest and longest-running door-knock fundraiser. Funds raised will assist individuals and families facing extreme financial hardships due to rising living costs and global uncertainties.
Major Jacqui Warrington, leader of The Salvation Army in Hervey Bay, remarked, “We know that people are doing it really tough in our community right now, as global uncertainty coupled with further increases in the cost of living locally puts an incredible strain on individuals and families.”
Hervey Bay is focused on supporting those most in need through the Red Shield Appeal. The funds will address critical issues like homelessness, food security, and family support services.
