April 30th marked an important step for The LYCRA Company as they announced Alistair Williamson as Vice President of Product Sustainability. This appointment underscores the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable product innovation and environmental stewardship.

Williamson brings four decades of experience in textile fibers and apparel. He will spearhead LYCRA’s sustainability strategy, focusing on reducing the environmental impacts of their products, operations, and innovation platforms.

According to Doug Kelliher, Executive Vice President of Product, "Alistair’s expertise will drive our sustainability agenda and support our customers’ evolving requirements." His leadership is expected to deliver high-performance solutions with enhanced transparency and reduced environmental impact.

Sustainability Initiatives and Achievements

Recently, The LYCRA Company has achieved notable sustainability milestones. They launched Renewable LYCRA® fibre with 70 per cent plant-based content and introduced products made from recycled materials. the company secured third-party certifications to bolster transparency and traceability across its value chain.
