Moochi Australia Launch Introduces Dedicated E-commerce And 2026 Collection
New Zealand womenswear brand moochi has launched in Australia with a dedicated Australian e-commerce platform and the release of its first local collection, Palette One: Construct. The launch marks a milestone in the brand’s 25-year history and establishes a direct Australian presence.
The move introduces an Australia-specific website designed to deliver a localised customer experience. The platform supports a direct-to-consumer model from launch.

Australian demand has built steadily over several years. Many customers first encountered the brand while travelling in New Zealand and continued purchasing through the New Zealand online store.
As a result, the Australian platform represents a strategic next step. It enables more tailored engagement while supporting future growth planning.
The Australian entry prioritises digital operations to gather customer insight. While moochi maintains a strong retail footprint in New Zealand, the Australian approach focuses on learning and adaptation through online trade.
The brand will continue to operate exclusively through its own channels. In Australia, future physical retail options will be assessed once demand patterns and customer behaviour are established.

“Australia is our nearest and dearest market, but we enter it with humility,” says Morgan Taylor, Australian Marketing and Business Manager. “While New Zealand and Australia share similarities, we respect that they are very different. This launch is about listening, learning and ensuring we meet the Australian customer where she is.”
Australia also plays a role in the brand’s global strategy. The market will be used to test a digital-first expansion model that may inform future growth into the United States and the United Kingdom.
“After 25 years of becoming one of New Zealand’s most loved brands, it’s with great excitement that moochi arrives in Australia,” Morgan Taylor adds. “Starting online allows us to learn quickly and intentionally, while staying true to the premium experience our customers expect.”

Brand Structure And Design Operations
Founded in a small coastal town in New Zealand, moochi remains design-led and customer-driven. Each year, the design team develops thousands of hand-sketched concepts. These are refined into curated Palette launches informed by weekly customer and retail feedback.
The business employs 120 people across its head office and 13 New Zealand retail stores. Production combines New Zealand-made garments with offshore manufacturing to support flexibility and scale.
moochi designs for a modern woman seeking quality, longevity and considered style. Collections are built to transition between work, weekend and everyday wear.

The brand operates through three sub-labels. moochi focuses on easy luxury. Six & seven offers a relaxed aesthetic. Key pieces deliver timeless wardrobe essentials.
Together, the labels form a cohesive wardrobe. The brand produces limited runs and does not discount, a strategy designed to protect product value and reduce duplication.
Palette One: Construct launched in January 2026 as the first collection of the year. The release signals a new phase for the brand.

The collection explores shape, form and movement. Soft neutrals such as camel, buttermilk and nude lead the palette before deepening into charcoal marle and chocolate.
Oversized silhouettes feature functional detailing and lighter textures. Prints include paisley, polka dots and animal motifs.
The collection is supported by footwear crafted in textured leathers, including snakeskin, shearling and suede. Styles include pointed flats, pumps, biker boots and knee-high leather designs.
