ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Certification Details

Nexon Asia Pacific has become the first organisation in Australia and New Zealand certified to the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 AI certification standard by Intertek SAI Global, highlighting its leadership in responsible AI governance as of 28th May 2026.

The certification underscores Nexon’s commitment to ensuring AI innovation is guided by robust governance frameworks that promote trust, accountability, and confidence in emerging technologies.

ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the first international management system standard designed specifically for AI. It provides a framework to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an AI Management System, supporting ethical, secure, and transparent AI use.

As AI use continues to grow, this certification offers organisations assurance that their AI systems are governed with appropriate risk management, accountability, compliance, and oversight mechanisms. Nexon’s certification demonstrates its dedication to integrating responsible AI practices into its operations and service delivery.

Nexon is now authorised to use Intertek SAI Global’s 5 Ticks StandardsMark, confirming that its AI governance practices meet internationally recognised standards.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the first ANZ organisation certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 by Intertek SAI Global,” said Saba Maroun, Chief Customer Services Officer at Nexon Asia Pacific. “AI presents enormous opportunities alongside clear responsibilities.”

AI Governance Framework

The ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification provides a critical framework for organisations implementing trustworthy AI systems. It ensures AI technologies are managed ethically and securely while promoting transparency and accountability.

Dr. Anand Shankaran, Vice President of Business Assurance APAC at Intertek SAI Global, congratulated Nexon on their achievement, highlighting their leadership in demonstrating a proactive commitment to trusted and ethical AI practices.

Elia Elturk, Management Systems Consultant at Requal Management Solutions, remarked on Nexon’s disciplined approach to AI governance, stating that the certification reflects accountability, transparency, and effective risk management aligned to international standards.

Certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 supports structured AI governance, identification and management of AI-related risks, ethical and accountable AI practices, and continual improvement in AI management.
