NOMAD Melbourne and Reine & La Rue will serve truffle menus every Sunday from 21st June
NOMAD Melbourne and Reine & La Rue are both moving into truffle season with Sunday menus starting from 21st June.
NOMAD Melbourne is returning with its annual Truffle Brunch, running every Sunday until 9th August. Reine & La Rue will launch its own Truffle Sundays menu over four Sundays, from 21st June to 9th August.
The two menus take different approaches to the season. NOMAD’s brunch menu has been reworked by head chef Jeremy Swann, with fresh truffles from Red Hill Truffles on the Mornington Peninsula used across its à la carte dishes.
The Flinders Lane restaurant will serve brunch from 10am to 2.30pm each Sunday. Dishes include steamed Pacific oyster with lardo, potato and truffle, scallop and prawn manti with cauliflower velouté and truffle, and pumpkin fritto with honey, pecorino and truffle.
The menu also includes wood oven-baked beans with wild mushrooms, baked eggs and truffle. For dessert, NOMAD has added a Black Truffle Hazelnut Madeleine, created with Madeleine de Proust, alongside pear tarte tatin with artichoke and truffle ice cream.
Reine & La Rue’s Truffle Sundays will run as a four-week Sunday lunch menu at the Collins Street restaurant. The optional set menu is priced at $185 per person and has been created by head chef Andy Roche.
The menu moves through several truffle-led courses, including mushroom and truffle custard tartlet, truffled chicken and foie gras terrine, and MB9 Sher Wagyu beef cheek with truffle. It also includes truffle pomme purée and Jerusalem artichoke crème brûlée with truffle.
Guests can add a cheese course featuring Délice de Bourgogne aux Truffes with Peninsula Honey and a glass of Vouvray Moelleux. A Madeleine x Reine & La Rue Black Truffle Cultured Butter is also available to pre-order and take home.
