Studio Ghibli Symphony features original singers on 1st March 2026
The Music of STUDIO GHIBLI Original Singers Symphony will take place at Palais Theatre in Melbourne on 1st March 2026. The concert marks the Melbourne debut of the production. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
Presented by Liveplanet, FriedRice Entertainment and SOZO, the event brings original cast members from Studio Ghibli film soundtracks to the stage. Audiences will hear live performances from singers whose voices featured in the original recordings.
The featured performers include Yoshikazu Mera, Sumi Shimamoto, Azumi Inoue and Yuyu. Each artist contributed to soundtracks across multiple Studio Ghibli productions. Their appearance in Melbourne forms part of the Original Singers Symphony format.
In addition, the concert will be accompanied by the TOKYO ASIA Orchestra, a 17-member ensemble from Japan. Takeshi Hashima will lead the orchestra. He is a violinist and concertmaster who has led numerous Ghibli-themed performances globally.

The performance is scheduled for 8pm AEDT on Sunday, 1st March 2026. General sale commenced on 30th January 2026 at 12pm AEDT. Ticketmaster is the official ticketing channel.
The programme spans orchestral arrangements from Studio Ghibli films. From ballads to orchestral themes, the concert presents a live symphonic interpretation of the studio’s music catalogue. Organisers confirmed the Melbourne performance forms part of a broader tour schedule.
