The Whisky Club Crowns Redbreast Top Whisky Of 2025

The Whisky Club poll engages 38,000-strong Australian community

The Whisky Club has named Redbreast PX Edition as Australia’s favourite whisky of 2025 following its annual nationwide poll. The Club invited its 38,000-strong Australian membership community to vote on their favourite whisky of the past 12 months. After tallying the results, Redbreast PX Edition secured the top position.

Each year, The Whisky Club asks members to reflect on eligible releases from the previous year before submitting their vote. Over time, the poll has become the largest whisky survey of its kind in Australia.

For the second year in a row, an Irish whiskey claimed the number one spot. Irish producers also secured the top three positions in the 2025 rankings, continuing a trend seen in the previous year.

The Whisky Club released Redbreast PX Edition exclusively to Australian members as its Whisky of the Month in June 2025. Members cast their votes throughout December 2025 and January 2026. During this period, the release continued to attract strong member engagement.

Irish whiskey secures the top three rankings

The Whisky Club awarded second place to Bushmills The Christmas Causeway 2012 Vintage, First-Fill Oloroso Full Maturation. Dunville’s 13 Year Old Cigar Malt placed third. The Whisky Club produced both releases exclusively for its members.

The PX Edition batch drew from stocks aged between 10 and 14 years. In addition, the whisky received an extended finish in Pedro Ximénez hogsheads. The casks originated from the family-owned Bodegas Paez Morilla.

Redbreast Master Blender Dave McCabe said, “For us here at the distillery, it’s the most amazing news and a great start to our year for 2026. It’s very humbling to hear such great feedback on the whiskeys that we make from the other side of the world, where it’s enjoyed as much as it is here.”

The Whisky Club General Manager, Seamus Carroll, also commented on the result. He said, “The Club has a great, long-lasting relationship with Redbreast and that’s because of the passion our Members have for their whiskeys. We’re planning long into the future with Redbreast, and we can’t wait to see what they will come up with next!”

Irish whiskey’s continued success followed Bushmills’ win in the 2024 poll. That year, Bushmills claimed first place with its 2010 Double Moscatel Cask edition. As a result, Irish producers have now led the rankings for two consecutive years.

At the start of 2026, The Whisky Club confirmed several additional releases. These included the Glenmorangie 13 Year Old Moscatel Cask, released exclusively to members in Australia and New Zealand. The Club also announced three 40-year-old single cask Girvan whiskies for release in early February, each priced at $295.

Founded in 2014, The Whisky Club operates as a whisky retail subscription service. It delivers exclusive monthly releases to more than 38,000 members. The business works directly with distilleries across Scotland, Ireland, Japan, and other regions to create limited releases for its membership base.
