New Hub Supports Regional Cybersecurity Efforts

SINGAPORE — Yubico has opened its third global headquarters in Singapore, underscoring the company’s commitment to the Asia Pacific region. The cybersecurity firm announced the new office, which aims to provide localized support and drive growth across the region.

According to Jerrod Chong, Acting CEO at Yubico, the expansion is critical as organisations in Asia Pacific transition from traditional multi-factor authentication to meet stringent national identity protection regulations. Chong, a Singaporean, emphasised the company’s intent to support enterprises and public sector leaders in building digital trust.

Yubico’s Strategic Expansion

The new Singapore office will serve as a strategic center, focusing on the supply chain, operations, and sales. Alvin Toh, Director and Vice President of Supply Chain Operations in Asia Pacific, will lead the office. Toh highlighted Singapore’s global connectivity and skilled talent as key factors for the headquarters’ location.

Yubico’s move comes as AI and cybersecurity threats grow, making hardware-backed authentication solutions like YubiKeys vital for protecting digital identities. The Singapore office will bolster Yubico’s regional partnerships, particularly in government, financial services, and technology sectors.

Yubico’s ongoing investment in local talent through initiatives like the Secure it Forward programme further supports its mission of enhancing cybersecurity awareness and resilience.

This strategic location in Singapore is expected to enhance Yubico’s ability to respond swiftly to regional market demands and to tailor solutions that cater specifically to the unique challenges faced by Asia Pacific organisations. By investing in this thriving hub, Yubico reaffirms its dedication to being a leader in the cybersecurity space, guiding the region towards a secure digital future.
