Platform to Mobilise Expertise and Collaboration

The Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) announced the launch of the Global Expert Community (GEC) on 15th June in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This platform is designed to mobilise expertise and foster international collaboration among DCO Member States and beyond.

Reflecting the DCO’s commitment to actionable digital cooperation, the GEC will expand access to specialised expertise. It aims to foster collaboration across sectors and borders, driving progress towards more inclusive and sustainable digital economies. As digital transformation reshapes global societies, the DCO seeks to convert these changes into innovative solutions.

Ms. Deemah AlYahya, Secretary-General of the DCO, stated, “Today’s digital challenges require stronger collaboration and access to diverse expertise. Through the Global Expert Community, we are establishing a platform that transforms knowledge into actionable impact and strengthens our collective capacity to build more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready digital economies.”

Expert Contributions and Initiatives

Experts within the GEC will engage in dialogues, capacity-building initiatives, and the development of practical knowledge resources. These efforts will support informed decision-making and implementation across various digital economy priorities, including Artificial Intelligence, Digital Trade, Cybersecurity, Digital Talent and Skills, and Emerging Technologies. Programmes will also focus on Digital Economy Policy and Governance, Digital Inclusion and Innovation, and Digital Transformation and Adoption.

Participation in the GEC is voluntary, with opportunities activated based on initiative needs and relevance of expertise. Applications are now open globally to qualified professionals from government entities, international organisations, academic institutions, the private sector, civil society, and independent practitioners.

The GEC aims to accelerate knowledge exchange and foster collaboration by bringing together experts from across sectors and regions. This initiative will support the development of practical solutions that drive meaningful and measurable impact through international digital cooperation. According to DCO, the GEC’s activities will include expert dialogues and strategic discussions to enhance global digital cooperation.

The Community supports a broad range of digital economy priorities, intending to strengthen international collaboration and unlock new opportunities for experts worldwide. By contributing their insights, these professionals will shape practical, high-impact solutions for the digital economy’s future. Through the GEC, DCO aims to address current and emerging challenges in the digital landscape effectively.
