New Study Highlights Impact of AI Tools on Productivity
SYDNEY — Zoom has announced the launch of its AI Companion 3.0, designed to help workers reclaim lost time, particularly during lunch breaks. The initiative, part of the company’s Zoom Ahead campaign, was unveiled today alongside a new study conducted with Morning Consult.
The research revealed that a significant number of U.S. knowledge workers, 60%, often find themselves squeezing in short lunches between meetings or tasks, while 35% skip lunch at least once a week. The study highlights the potential of AI automation to alleviate these issues, as it offers productivity gains by reducing meeting overload.
AI Tools and Work-Life Balance
Zoom’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kimberly Storin, noted the immediate benefits of the AI Companion, stating, “Zoom’s AI Companion 3.0 automates what happens before, during, and after meetings so teams can reclaim time in their day.” The AI assistant is designed to automate tasks, connect workflows, and facilitate seamless transitions from conversation to execution, thereby restoring work-life balance.
The Morning Consult study also found that 76% of workers using AI tools report saving at least 30 minutes per day, with a large per centage willing to use this time for a dedicated lunch break. This trend is part of a broader move in the industry towards integrating AI to enhance productivity and improve employee well-being.
In tandem with the launch, Zoom is hosting the ‘Hard Stop Burger Shop’, a pop-up event in Manhattan from March 25-27 to emphasise the importance of taking time for meals. The company aims to encourage a cultural shift towards protecting break times as part of its ‘Take Back Lunch’ movement.
