Bastille Day French Festival will bring food, music, pétanque and cultural events to Sheds C and D on 11th and 12th July

The Bastille Day French Festival will return to Queen Victoria Market for two days in July, with free entry across Sheds C and D and paid access applying to selected ticketed sessions.

The 2026 event will run on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. It will feature French food, live music, market stalls, pétanque, talks, masterclasses and satellite events including comedy and a cheese and wine masterclass.

The annual festival will again use Queen Victoria Market as its main base, with visitors able to browse stalls from local French-Australian producers and food traders. The food focus includes croissants, raclette and vin chaud, alongside other French-inspired dishes available across the event.

Live entertainment will run from the Main Stage, with French music listed as one of this year’s key parts of the festival. Pétanque will also return, adding a social, outdoor element to the event over the weekend.

Alongside the food and music, the festival’s cultural program will include Les Lumières talks and hands-on masterclasses. Further satellite events are also planned, with some requiring paid tickets.
