Captain Baxter event set for 30th January at St Kilda Sea Baths
Captain Baxter will host Dragged to Sea: Queens on Deck at St Kilda Sea Baths on Friday, 30th January 202,6 as part of Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival. The event starts at 7pm and is expected to attract up to 200 guests throughout the evening.
Dragged to Sea sits within Captain Baxter’s Midsumma nightlife program and uses the venue’s waterfront position to deliver an evening centred on drag performance, DJ-led music and social gathering. The event aligns with the wider Midsumma calendar of LGBTQI cultural and nightlife activations across Melbourne.

Guests can access the event with free entry, while walk-ins are accepted subject to venue capacity. In addition, patrons can book tables to secure seating throughout the night. This structure allows guests to arrive at different times rather than follow a fixed performance schedule.
Eliza Lot and Opal Essance will lead the entertainment across the evening. The performers will deliver live drag sets before transitioning to DJ performances later in the night. Their music selections will feature house, pop and dance tracks.
The venue will operate as an open entertainment space throughout the night. Guests can move freely between performance areas, the dancefloor and the waterfront setting. As a result, the program will progress from early performances into a sustained late-night atmosphere.
Line-up and access information
Eliza Lot and Opal Essance will appear in dual roles as performers and DJs during the event. This format combines live drag and music programming within a single continuous schedule.

Public transport provides access to the venue via nearby tram routes. Tram services 16, 3a and 96 stop close to St Kilda Sea Baths and Jacka Boulevard. Ride share services and taxis can also access nearby drop-off points.
Limited parking is available at St Kilda Sea Baths and in the surrounding streets. The venue provides accessible entry points. Guests with specific accessibility requirements should make contact in advance.
