Celebrating its 95th anniversary, the Empire State Building in New York City is hosting a month-long pop-up experience by Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, which runs from April 10 to May 10. Guests can visit the iconic 86th Floor Observation Deck for this special event.
Indulge in the exclusive Kong Sundae, crafted specifically for this milestone. Featuring smooth vanilla ice cream, the sundae is topped with Ghirardelli’s handcrafted hot fudge, whipped cream, diced almonds, a cherry, and a signature Chocolatey Kong.
“We are pleased to celebrate the Empire State Building’s 95th anniversary with our guests, and we cannot think of a better way than with an exclusive Ghirardelli sundae served ESB-style with a special appearance by Kong,” said Dan Rogoski, the observatory’s general manager.
Special Offerings at the Observation Deck
Priced at $18, the Kong Sundae, along with a Classic Hot Cocoa for $11, is available daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors can enjoy these treats while taking in the panoramic views from New York City‘s only 360-degree outdoor observatory.
Expressing her excitement, Lacey Zane, vice president of restaurant and retail at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, stated, “The Kong Sundae was created to celebrate our home at the Empire State Building, and we are thrilled that Observatory guests will be the first to experience it.”
A full range of Ghirardelli sundaes, cocoa, shakes, and chocolate offerings await guests at the ground-floor shop located at 16 W 34th Street. Beloved by locals and tourists alike, the shop offers a variety of Ghirardelli’s signature treats.
