About this event
We’re back with one final night walk!
In replacement of our February night walk which was unfortunately cancelled, we have decided to put on one more before the winter chill really sets in.
April 16th – Darebin Parklands
please note, this date is subject to night sky visibility
More information will be emailed closer to this event.
Event Description
In an era of increased urbanisation and disconnection from the night sky, we invite you to join for a collective night walk, to star gaze and share stories about the night sky. Come and learn about the ecological and cultural impacts of light pollution, and cultural astronomical knowledge under the stars.
Hosted by UnCommon Cosmos, a grassroots initiative dedicated to facilitating community connection to the night sky and decolonising space exploration.

Acknowledgemet
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the unceded lands where these night walks take place. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We honour the profound connection of First Peoples to these Lands, Waters, and Sky, recognising them as the first astronomers. In this spirit, we stand in solidarity and resistance against the ongoing colonisation of Earth and Space.
