About this event

A mini folk fest of three Australian award-winning indie folk musicians who will each melt your heart in slightly different ways!

Matsumua Blues Festival Inc Presents…

JAILHOUSE CONCERT SERIES 2026 featuring Kris Mizzi (VIC), Amy Vee (NSW) and Anna Weatherup (NSW).

Heartwarming. Storytelling. Musical brilliance.

You are in for treat! A triple bill of three of Australia’s finest indie folk musicians will hit the Kew Court House stage in a concert which will feel more like a mini folk fest.

The night will start with a duo set by Amy Vee and Anna Weatherup and finish up with a solo set by Kris Mizzi.

Amy Vee is an Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Newcastle, NSW. Amy is well known for her poetic lyrics and music that blends indie folk and ambient dream pop. Amy is an award-winning composer and was nominated for an ARIA for one of her songs. Amy began her career in the band The Virtues before releasing solo work like her albums Fits & Starts, Same Skin, and Live at Lizottes in 2023.

Anna Weatherup is an incredible singer songwriter who first came to the public’s attention as a competitor in The Voice, Australia. Anna has launched a string of albums over the years. Her latest single ‘Delusional’, released a few months ago, is making a huge splash! The strength and belief that emanates from Anna’s songs are enough to excite any serious music fan.

Make the most of seeing Amy and Anna while they are on tour in Victoria – the Jailhouse Concert will be their only exclusive Melbourne show!

And now for the Victorian…

Kris Mizzi has a voice that is both strong and tender. Melbourne singer-songwriter Kris has earned his place among Australia’s most captivating folk artists. A masterful storyteller, Mizzi crafts songs that linger long after the final note, weaving beauty, truth, and vulnerability into every line. His live performances are a kaleidoscope of emotions—joyful, uplifting, spiritual, comedic, and deeply moving.

Fresh from showcasing at Ireland’s prestigious folk conference, Your Roots Are Showing, and performing on the revered Danny Kyle Stage at Galsgows ‘Celtic Conncetions’, Mizzi continues to leave an indelible mark wherever he plays. Musicians and fans alike have hailed him as a leading voice in Australian folk, delivering performances that feel like intimate, once-in-a-lifetime experiences. He is a definite festival favourite but with the Jailhouse Concert, you can enjoy Kris performing in a cosy theatre setting which the beautiful Kew Court House is able to offer.
