FastMove monorail targets faster pallet transport

on

FastMove is rated for more than 600 pallets an hour

Swisslog has rebranded its monorail system as FastMove for long-distance pallet transport in warehouses. The electrified system moves palletised goods at speeds of up to 2 m/s.

FastMove delivers capacities above 600 pallets per hour. Swisslog positions that output for sites that face peak demand and long internal transport routes.

The product builds on more than 40 years of Swisslog monorail technology. Swisslog now markets FastMove around performance, flexibility and longer equipment life.

Its modular design lets operators change throughput by adding or removing vehicles. As a result, customers can phase investment instead of replacing a full transport system at once.

Compared with conventional conveyor systems, FastMove uses fewer components on long routes. That can cut installation costs, lower operating costs and improve warehouse space use.

Swisslog also targets modernisation and retrofit projects with FastMove. In many cases, customers can upgrade existing installations through controls and software changes rather than full replacement.

The next FastMove release is due by the end of 2026. According to Swisslog, that version will comply with the EU Cyber Resilience Act.

FastMove runs in temperatures from -30°C to 50°C. That operating range suits food and beverage sites, consumer goods facilities and retail distribution centres.

The system handles loads of up to 3,000 kg in twin-load configurations. Swisslog also states that FastMove provides gentle handling of goods across complex warehouse layouts.

SynQ software integration

FastMove integrates with Swisslog’s SynQ software platform. Through SynQ, operators can use data-driven control to manage material flows and align automated and manual processes.

Swisslog describes FastMove as its long-distance pallet transport offer within its warehouse automation portfolio. The company also says the system supports scalable growth by changing vehicle numbers as business needs evolve.

Giovanni Franco, Product Manager, Pallet Transportation at Swisslog, called FastMove “the next step in the evolution of monorail technology at Swisslog”. He linked the rebrand to clearer customer value in throughput, scalability and lifecycle improvements.
