City Celebrates Culinary Success with Top Honors
HONG KONG — Hong Kong restaurants have claimed the top two spots in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list, with The Chairman and Wing taking first and second place, respectively. The awards ceremony, hosted in Hong Kong for the first time, brought together over 1,000 industry leaders, chefs, and media representatives on March 25, according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).
The Chairman‘s owner, Danny Yip, expressed his honour at being named Asia’s best restaurant for the second time. “This recognition reflects the depth and diversity of Hong Kong’s dining culture,” Yip said. HKTB Chairman Dr. Peter Lam highlighted the city’s position as a “Culinary Capital” with over 200 restaurants featured in international gourmet guides.

Six local restaurants made the top 50, including Neighborhood, Estro, Caprice, and Mono, while others like Ta Vie and Vea were listed in the extended rankings. The city also saw an increase in its entries in the “Black Pearl Restaurant Guide” and the “MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2026”, solidifying its reputation for world-class dining.
