Board Strengthened for Nasdaq Listing
IQM Quantum Computers has appointed Barbara Venneman to its Board of Directors, announced on 12th June 2026, as the firm prepares for its upcoming Nasdaq listing.
Venneman, a Vanguard Board Director and former Global Head of Deloitte Digital, brings over 30 years of experience in digital transformation, AI, and enterprise technology. Her appointment is expected to deepen IQM's expertise as it expands globally.
CEO and Co-founder Jan Goetz will now represent founders on the IQM Board, replacing Juha Vartiainen. Venneman's industry experience includes leadership roles and strategic partnerships that have accelerated technology adoption worldwide.
IQM's Strategic Expansion
IQM is an industry leader in superconducting quantum computers, managing the full stack from chip design to cloud platform access. Its vertical integration allows flexibility in deployment, either on-premises or via cloud.
Sierk Poetting, Chairman of IQM’s Board, stated, "Barbara's track record of scaling global technology businesses and guiding enterprises through transformative change makes her an exceptional addition to our Board as we prepare to enter the public markets and scale our commercial presence in the U.S. and globally."
IQM plans to list on Nasdaq through a merger with Real Asset Acquisition Corp. This move positions IQM as a pioneer, potentially becoming the first publicly listed European quantum company.
Venneman currently serves on the boards of Decagon.AI and Vanguard. She holds an MBA from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Université de Montréal.
IQM's technology is built from the ground up, owning the complete stack from chip design and fabrication to software development and cloud services. This vertical integration not only provides control over innovation cycles but also offers customers choices in deployment.
IQM's commitment to advancing quantum computing technology has established it as a leader in the market. The open-architecture platform aims to accelerate the adoption of quantum computing and support the formation of enterprise and research ecosystems around it.
The expansion of IQM's Board with Venneman's expertise is seen as a strategic move to support the company's growth ambitions and its journey to becoming a publicly traded entity.
