Applications are now open for the K-Startup Grand Challenge 2026, an initiative designed for international startups looking to penetrate the Korean and broader Asian markets. Organised by South Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups, this programme runs from July 2026 to April 2027.
Having attracted over 21,537 applicants from more than 100 countries since its inception in 2016, the K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC) stands as a leading inbound acceleration programme. Participants can choose to engage either online or in person, culminating in a Demo Day in Korea.
The programme unfolds in three distinct phases. Phase one focuses on market analysis and preparation, where 80 teams will explore Korean market dynamics, receive localization strategy guidance, and benefit from strategic mentoring.
In the second phase, 40 teams advance to market entry and settlement, benefiting from business acceleration services, expert mentoring, and visa support. A total of ₩380 million in prize money is awarded to the top 20 teams.
Phase three emphasizes business growth and scale-up, providing deep-dive support and a scale-up grant totaling ₩250 million for the top 8 teams. Participants gain collaboration opportunities with more than 20 leading Korean conglomerates through Proof-of-Concept projects.
Open to non-Korean-founded startups established within the past seven years, or ten years for deep-tech sectors, the programme targets industries such as AI, biotech, fintech, smart manufacturing, mobility, and energy.
The programme offers incorporation and visa support, complimentary workspace in Korea, and the opportunity to pitch at COMEUP 2026, Korea’s flagship startup festival. participants receive investor access and up to ₩950 million in equity-free financial support, including winning prizes and commercialization grants.
