Woolworths adds 105 Lower Shelf Price items

Woolworths will expand its Lower Shelf Price range to 1,035 products from Wednesday 26 August 2026, adding 105 more items to the program.

According to the retailer, products in the range are priced 16.4% lower on average than their previous standard shelf price. On a $150 shop made up of Lower Shelf Price items, that would cut more than $20 from the total compared with the earlier standard shelf prices.

The program began in May 2025 with 400 products. Since then, Woolworths has continued what it describes as a multi-million dollar investment in the range.

Unlike temporary promotions, Lower Shelf Price keeps reduced standard shelf prices in place for longer. The latest additions include meal staples such as mince, chicken, eggs and cheese.

Woolworths Group CEO Amanda Bardwell said families wanted prices they could rely on each week and that the retailer had grown the range to more than 1,000 everyday products.

Examples of new Lower Shelf Prices

Among the meat and poultry examples, Italian Flavoured Chicken Roasting Portions will drop from $8.00 to $6.00, a 25% cut. Diced Chicken Breast, RSPCA, 1kg, will fall from $15.50 to $13.50, down 12.9%.

Beef Mince 500g will move from $9 to $8.50, a reduction of 50 cents. Pork Mince 800g will fall from $9.50 to $8.80, down 70 cents.

Classic Beef Burgers 4 pack, 500g, will go from $8.50 to $7.50. Large Cage Free Eggs Large 18 pack, 900g, will drop from $8.70 to $8.40.

In dairy, Cheese Block 500g will fall from $7.70 to $6.80. Prepacked Salad Varieties will move from $7 to $6.30.

Meanwhile, Bulla Creamy Classics Tub 2 litres will drop from $12 to $7, a reduction of $5 or 41%.

For drinks, Coca Cola cans in a 30 pack will fall from $40 to $32 in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. Woolworths did not provide the Western Australia price on 24 August 2026.

Bardwell said the retailer added core items such as mince, chicken and eggs because families rely on them in a weekly shop. She also said more customers were putting Lower Shelf Price products in their trolleys to spend less on household essentials.

Woolworths did not disclose how long the 105 new price reductions will stay in place. The company also did not give a total investment figure for the program.
