Supporting Non-Profits Across Asia
MetLife Foundation has awarded over $6.5 million to 26 non-profit organisations in Asia as part of its Community Impact Grant Program, announced on 9 April 2026. This initiative reflects MetLife’s long-standing commitment to addressing essential community needs.
“Through the Community Impact Grant Program, MetLife Foundation invests in nonprofits that are strengthening the well-being of people and communities,” said Tia Hodges, President and CEO of MetLife Foundation. She highlighted the importance of helping individuals and families navigate challenges with greater stability.
The grants support organisations focusing on food security, mental well-being, environmental sustainability, and vibrant communities. Among the recipients is DV Safe Phone in Australia, which repurposes phones to aid domestic violence victims, enabling them to stay connected and safe.
Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra in India empowers 2,000 farmers with climate-resilient farming practices, which increases agricultural income and enhances food security. Meanwhile, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Bangladesh provides access to books and literary resources for communities in rural and semi-urban areas.
Global Reach and Impact
Since its launch in 2023, the Community Impact Grant Programme has reached 1.6 million people globally, awarding over $9 million to 207 non-profits across multiple regions. The programme expanded globally in 2025 and continues to support a diverse group of organisations.
In South Korea, the Korea Legacy Committee is expanding meal preparation and delivery services to underserved elderly citizens. Vietnam and Friends in Vietnam works to provide clean, potable water and environmental education for over 3,000 students and teachers.
MetLife employees played a crucial role in the selection process, volunteering their time to review grant applications from nonprofit organisations. Their involvement underscores the program’s commitment to advancing inclusive economic mobility and financial health.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro in Bangladesh not only provides books but also fosters a culture of reading among young people. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities and promote lifelong learning.
The Community Impact Grant Programme is part of MetLife Foundation’s broader efforts to create opportunities for economic advancement and financial security. By supporting these initiatives, MetLife Foundation aims to build resilient communities where MetLife operates.
