New AI Integration Drives Significant User Engagement
SYDNEY — Smartsheet’s new Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server has quickly gained traction among enterprises, achieving 4,000 users and 1.74 million actions in its first week, the company announced. This rapid adoption highlights the demand for integration of AI tools with business data.
Smartsheet, a provider of work management solutions, confirmed the integration with Anthropic’s Claude AI tool, allowing enterprises to connect AI models directly to their live data. This enables improved decision-making and risk management, according to Pratima Arora, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Smartsheet. “We are moving past the ‘chat’ phase of AI into a new era where AI can impact team productivity,” Arora said.
AI Integration and Industry Context
The launch of Smartsheet’s MCP Server is part of a broader trend of AI integration within enterprise systems, responding to a growing need for efficient AI usage and data governance in the corporate world. Liz Miller, Vice President at Constellation Research, noted that integrating AI with organisational data can serve as a productivity multiplier, reducing the need for status meetings and manual risk assessments.
The server’s architecture also addresses cost concerns associated with AI usage fees, optimizing data processing to reduce expenses. Julian Weber, a partner at AMX, emphasised the server’s potential to transform data-driven decision-making in enterprises.
In addition to these benefits, the MCP Server has been designed with scalability in mind, ensuring that it can support the growing demands of large organisations. This scalability is crucial for companies looking to expand their AI capabilities without being constrained by infrastructure limitations. As more businesses look to leverage AI, the need for robust and flexible solutions like the MCP Server becomes increasingly apparent. This development is expected to lead to further advancements in enterprise AI applications, driving innovation and enhancing operational efficiencies across various sectors.
