Blackmores Cognition Ultra starts in late July 2026

Blackmores and Kirin Holdings will launch new cognitive supplements in Australia and New Zealand from late July 2026. The products are Blackmores Cognition Ultra in Australia and Blackmores Ultra Brain Care in New Zealand.

Blackmores will first sell Cognition Ultra on its Australian e-commerce platform from late July 2026. Australian pharmacies will follow from September 2026, while New Zealand pharmacies will stock Ultra Brain Care from late July 2026.

Both products use Cognizin Citicoline from Kyowa Hakko Bio Co., Ltd., a Kirin Group company. Blackmores calls the launch its first product designed to enhance cognitive performance.

Manufacturing takes place at Blackmores’ Braeside site in Australia. Kirin and Blackmores jointly developed the range by combining Blackmores’ consumer insight, product development and regulatory capability with Kyowa Hakko Bio’s science-backed ingredient expertise.

Since Blackmores joined the Kirin Group in August 2023, Kirin has expanded its consumer health push across the Asia-Pacific region. As a result, the companies are using the launch to build Kirin’s Health Science business in APAC.

Kirin linked the launch to rising interest in brain health and age-related changes in cognitive function. Research cited by the company suggests cognitive decline can begin in midlife.

International bodies have also focused on the issue. Kirin cited the World Health Organisation position paper on optimising brain health across the life course and National Institute on Ageing material on cognitive health and older adults.

According to the companies, the supplement is intended for consumers interested in cognitive function, subject to local rules in each market. Blackmores plans to sell it in line with regulations in Australia and New Zealand.

Alastair Symington, Senior Executive Officer at Kirin Holdings and CEO and Managing Director of Blackmores Limited, said the products are designed to support brain performance, health and function as part of a healthy lifestyle.
