Zip Co joins 15-plus payment rollout before Gamescom 2026
Xsolla added more than 15 local payment methods to Xsolla Payments on 17th August 2026, ahead of Gamescom 2026. The rollout covers Asia and Oceania, EMEA, and the Americas, including Zip Co in Australia.
Game developers and publishers can now accept payment methods that players already use in Indonesia, the Philippines, Germany, France, and the United States. The expansion works through the existing Xsolla Payments integration, so no separate integration is required for each method.
Studios can add those options without extra development work for each local method. As a result, they can widen checkout choice and reach more buyers in regional markets.
In Asia and Oceania, the additions include Mandiri in Indonesia, ShopeePay in the Philippines, LINE Pay in Taiwan, Octopus in Hong Kong, 7/11 Konbini in Japan, and Zip Co in Australia. China UnionPay also expanded into new regions and added support for 35 local currencies.
Those China UnionPay currencies include the Brazilian real, Mexican peso, Turkish lira, UAE dirham, and South African rand. In Hong Kong, Octopus is the city’s most widely used payment method.
Octopus is used by 98% of Hong Kong residents aged 15 to 64. That makes it a key option for game sellers targeting one of Asia’s busiest digital payment markets.
Wero in Germany and Belgium
Across EMEA, the new methods include Wero in Germany and Belgium, Pay by Bank in Romania and Bulgaria, FLOA Pay in France, Bancomat Pay and MyBank in Italy, IRIS Commerce in Greece, and CliQ in Jordan.
Wero launched in 2024 across Germany, France, and Belgium as a pan-European digital wallet and banking scheme. Since launch, it has signed up more than 55 million registered users and transferred €19 billion.
According to Xsolla, Wero aims to become an all-in-one omni-channel solution. Meanwhile, banks and regulators across Europe are building account-to-account and instant-payment alternatives to international cards.
Aeropay in the United States
In the United States, Aeropay brings Pay by Bank to Xsolla Payments. Players can pay directly from their bank accounts during checkout.
Xsolla tied the expansion to a wider shift in digital payments. In many fast-growing gaming markets, players use regional wallets, bank transfers, instalment plans, and cash-based methods instead of international cards.
When those options are missing at checkout, the sale often does not happen. Xsolla’s data shows merchants that add a market’s top payment methods alongside cards have seen sales grow by up to 35%.
The company argues that familiar local methods build trust and lift conversion. It also expects the added methods to reduce checkout abandonment and unlock revenue that studios previously missed.
Chris Hewish, president of Xsolla, said: “Players in these markets are ready to spend. They just need to pay the way they already pay everywhere else.”
