Since its electrifying debut in 2024, VIVA Melbourne has become the pulse of North Melbourne’s nightlife, hailed as a cultural game-changer. This year saw the arrival of its most ambitious productions, Vogue and Vicious. In just a few months, these shows have captivated over 12,000 guests across more than 100 performances. The productions feature a powerhouse cast of 17 artists and crew, delivering tightly choreographed dance sequences, soaring live vocals, and costume changes at lightning speed. At times, performers change outfits more than ten times in a single night, ensuring no two moments ever feel the same.
The climax of each show leaves audiences breathless as a custom-built 14-metre rain curtain floods the stage. This dramatic finale immerses guests in an atmosphere unmatched anywhere else in Melbourne, setting a new benchmark for spectacle-driven theatre.
But VIVA is more than what happens on stage. It’s a fully curated night of indulgence. Guests are treated to a gourmet menu where every dish is designed to pair with the show. Cocktails carry the names and inspiration of musical numbers, blending performance with flavour so seamlessly that dining becomes part of the theatre itself.
With Vogue and Vicious cementing its reputation, VIVA has extended its universe by unveiling The Stage Door, a versatile new function space that breathes with the same creativity and boldness. Located in a reimagined factory loft, this space offers soaring white panelled walls, dramatic black ceilings, and roller shutters that can shift the ambience from open and airy to intimately moody. The Stage Door accommodates 300 guests for cocktails, 200 for conferences, or 150 for long-table dining, making it one of the most adaptable venues in the city.
For smaller gatherings, the adjoining Greenroom Bar provides a glamorous escape. With its dark textured walls, low lighting, and art deco design, it channels the moody sophistication of prohibition speakeasies. The bar hosts up to 80 guests, making it perfect for private dinners, cocktail parties, or elegant pre-show drinks.
